Tony Cottman

What is your impression of Tony Cottman's (the race director) performance in the 2005 season? Did he live up to the media hype? Is he simply a populist?

I think he did pretty good. Not as many errors as the year before. Everyone remember the Vagas race?

Yeah had a great year. Cant see any reason for anyone to have an issue for him to be retained well into the future.

Well, there was no stupid, unjust calls this year like in 2004 (Tracy at Road America, anyone? ) and the only time I can remember race control getting involved in the race was Montreal, and I think we all agree that their call to Glock was pretty just....

There were some nice little touches though, like at Surfers, someone (forget who now) had a broken front wing and they were black flagged right away, remembering the lesson of Carpentier in 2004
