Plum Pudding Thanks

On behalf of Cliff & myself and everyone in Race Control, Thank You all very much, for what I think you'll agree was a very entertaining (if cold) days racing. Highlight for me was seeing Pete Felix in his new Clio Cup car give the Pedrazza Sports Racer of Steve Hodges a real hard time. Seeng them pass the back markers on both sides was very impressive, especially when you think Pete's only had the car a couple of weeks and that was his 1st outing in it.
I was also impressed by Stuart Herriott, sometime Mallory Fire Car driver and occasional Stock Hatch competitor who was having his first outing in a newly aquired Saxo. The way he took to the grass from the start to avoid the very slow moving Moggie Minor which was on the row in front of him was impressive, mind you, as the Starter I was ducking at the time!

Thanks to all the marshals that turned up for the plum pudding meeting.

The start to the sports & saloons race was fairly intresting: with the moggy minor getting a slow start and me diving to the right to miss him and looking at the end of the pit lane barrier!

Dave did i scare you at all of the start line??

See you lot at the training day at mallory next month.

An excellent day, and it wasnt that cold (well not as cold as it has been in the past). The sports and saloon race was good fun to watch with a few very fast cars such as the clio, seat's and the Pedrazza although I think they might have been disappointed to not be able to get away from the very quick Fiesta.

An excellent day's racing, by bikes, cars and sidecars.

I was nice and warm up in the commentary booth, trying to lap chart for Ian.

I admit I lost the plot several times, but that was due to the backmarkers being two laps down from the front runners and the rest being anywhere in between!

Definitely the best way to spend boxing day, although the cold seemed to reinvigorate the bugs I've been fighting off this week. Nice to see such a healthy grid for the sports and saloons, and a huge variety of cars as well. Save of the day prize goes to the Anglia driver who seemed to be sideways for half of Stebbe straight after running onto the grass at the exit of Gerrards - the crew on Esses In were very impressed!

It was one hell of a save, I would have given him driver of the day for it if he had not fell off the track a few laps after

Thanx to Steve, our driver, who only came to do his medical and ended up helping out on post.

A great day to be on post dispite only having one brush, three foam bottles and a random water extingisher. A quiet day at the bus stop but the bunch of nutters with me made the day all the better. The varation of cars and bikes was fantastic, wobbly wheels and oil slicks to boot.

This was my first plum pudding, it won't be my last.

That was very impressive from where I was - on Stebbe straight! I'd say he was sideways for the full length of the straight! I must admit I enjoyed the second half of his escapade better than the first - such things are always less scary going away from you than coming towards you...

The driver of the MG Maestro who'd been less lucky a couple of laps previously was looking worried - it did look for a few seconds as though the Anglia was going to hit the undamaged side of his car!
