Help! Jack Knight SCCR gearsets

Hi all, I'm wondering if someone can offer some advice. I have ordered two MGB straight cut gear sets from Jack Knight and am having a hell of a time getting a response from them on delivery. It is now 6 months since order!

I did know they had some difficulties in 2006 but was lead to believe they were still trading. I have had the response that the gears are on the way but nothing concrete. There phone always diverts to an answering machine so no good there I'm afraid.

I would welcome any info anyone has on their situation

Cheers
Grant

Guys

Thanks for your various replies. Unfortunately I have already paid JK, some 6 months ago, so I am not looking for an alternate source. I thought at the time they were reputable. So now the car has had to go back together with the standard box. If I ever get the gears I will install them later. So I was really after anyone's knowledge on whether they are still trading or if I can kiss the money good bye.

Kiss the money goodbye I'd reckon. Call Hardy Engineering and see if they can help in the meantime. Theyre extremely helpful and knowledgeable and their racers too!

JKD have gone and I dont think that you will see your money again you are not the only one there are loads of people in the Mini world that have been tucked up as well deposits were being taken even though there was no stock to sell.

That'd be a waste of time unfortunately. The liquidators, bank and inland revenue will get first dibs on any cash left over. The poor customers who got shafted get nothing.

Jack Knight Developments was dissolved in March 2007, however http://www.jackknight.co.uk brings up a website with 2008 price lists etc. It could well be that it is not a limited company, though

Hi
JK were dissolved in 2007 but started up again, we recently ordered a CR / SC gear set for a MGA, we ordered this on the 2nd April, we were strung along for a month & told that the gears would arrive with us on the 25th April
This never happened & now we are stuck -
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS FIRM - THEY ARE JOKERS fortunatley we did not part with any money!

just saw this thread linked from another - not sure if the email address at the top will work, as our email addresses are @uk.pwc.com [or whichever country you work for / in]. If anybody does try and that first address doesn't work, try the ending I posted above.

Not always a waste of time making a claim, all depends if someone takes the company on or not, I found this out a few weeks back, massive media company I did work for went pop owing me a couple of hundred quid then about a year later I suddenly found the money appear in my company bank account, most odd!
