ForumNick should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Whilst possibly not adaptable to V8SC... aren't there steering wheels/columns that swing up, out of the way ?

edit... like this ?

Paul Morris used the quick-release hub on his steering wheel once.

Until it caught him out big time.

After the spectacle at the Glen this year, the Dinger would be a great co-driver, but he's probably not close enough to the Penske camp to even be an option.

Plus, I guess, any full-time driver won't be able to pull a trans-Pacific double duty weekend.

I don't really follow NASCAR very closely but I know Allmendinger drove for Penske before, and even after his drug thing Penske gave him a seat for a few rounds in the Indy series.

It also seems like AJ and Marcos get on alright, both have seemed complimentary of each other and respectful in interviews that I have seen. A quick check shows they were team mates for a year at RPM so that might be part of it.

There are some ties and he would probably be a pretty good choice as he's been pretty good in everything, particularly if the driving position thing poses a problem for the other picks. The busy NASCAR schedule would probably pose a problem though.

From memory, John Bowe sat very close to the wheel. They used a seat insert for him when he shared a car with Dick.

The Dinger is a Chevrolet driver too, whilst Penske is Ford...
It would be awesome to see the likes of Earnhardt Jnr & Kyle Busch etc in a V8 Supercar endure tho!

It's a mute point, Charlotte is on the Bathurst weekend, but not only does A.J. drive for JTG Daugherty, a satellite team of RCR (Chevy) he also drives for Michael Shank Racing in the Daytona 24 hour (Riley Ford). I don't think he's ties to any particular manufacturer.

In fact last year he drove for JTG Daugherty (Toyota), Finch (Chevrolet) and Penske (Ford).
