At the time I was running a business selling motorsport related things while working in the technology industry.

It would have meant a move from Melbourne so I am kind of glad I didn't actually get it.

I do believe the person who got it went on to work at FPR (links obvious) and may even still be there.

My racing business isn't around anymore but the audiovisual side is booming, hopefully if I can keep growing you might see my company name on the side of a GT car or something, and forum posters can talk about how crap I am!

I might be missing something, but I can never understand how having celebrities hanging around actually helps develop and grow the sport.

Anyone who is interested in the sport is not going to be, in the slightest, influenced by celebrities attendance, and anyone who is interested in celebrities is unlikely to be a long term follower, supporter or attendee of motorsport.

I couldn't agree more. I often scratch my head when they interview some starlet or pop star who says they really like the sport, but they've never been to a race and rarely or never watch it on TV...
