I find it very interesting that Yeehaa Events was only a 50% owner of the event, the other 50% is owned by the Bathurst City Council...

http://autoaction.com.au/bathurst-12...04021419653102

Prices for everything go up every year, but what we are going to see now is ANY negative changes to the race are automatically going to get blamed on V8SC.

I hope though that the Council's stake and continued involvement engenders stability with the arrangements and allays the chicken little's fears.

Good to see you are still protecting the mother hen.

The Bathurst Council has been a 50% shareholder for years and has seen the event stay affordable with minor minor increases in cost.

If this changes with the change to V8SC - ofcourse they will get the flack for the increased costs. And quite rightly too

If ticket prices increase by 50% and 2017 camping by ,let's say ,100% then V8SA will get the flack.Their policy at V8 events has been higher ticket prices at the expense of increased spectator numbers relying on the price inelasticity of demand from their core audience.
Spectator numbers have increased every year since the move to GT3 and by an accelerating percentage inthe last 2 years.I would think numbers would have to increase by more than 20% before v8SA can claim any credit.I hope this happens but it is the benchmark they should be aiming for.

ha ha, 20% so that would be to 14,500 on race day or about 40000 for the weekend. My goodness, catching up to Winton v8 round (still short)

These increased prices that you talk about havent seemed to affected Bathurst 1000 crowds 2nd largest crowd ever last year. Townsville this year was the biggest crowd since the original one.

Inagine if at the 12 hour you had to pay $45 for race day. Not much more than an aFL or NRL match. Thats its Im not going.

How much has a general admission ticket cost each year for the last 5 years? Seeing how much it has increased in the past 5 years should provide a good indication of an acceptable increase for this year’s event.

Stop bringing reason into the discussion, they aren't interested.

If a Kangaroo gets hit during the race, they will blame Tony Cochrane.

3 day grand stand ticket in 2012 was $50. Race day Entry was $20
3 Day grand stand ticket in 2015 was $90 Race day entry was $40

Ticket prices nearly doubled in 3 years.

Im guessing the B1000 fans dont want to slum it at the 12 hour

B1000 trades of 52 years off history, the modern Bathurst 12hr is heading towards its 10th

How much was a ticket to the 1972 Hardie-Ferodo 500 compared to the 1963 Armstrong 500??

really irrelevant isnt.

Price has doubled for the 12 hour in 3 years under O'Brien. They haven't doubled at the B1000 under Warburton in the same time frame

Reckon maybe the supporters should feel safer now than previusly

Compare apples with apples please

Tell me how much the prices went up for the Bathurst 500 between 1963 and 1972, then we can have a serious conversation about how the pricing matches up

Or on a tangent, what were the prices like for the 1996 AMP Bathurst 1000, the 1997 Primus 1000 Classic and the 2006 Supercheap Auto 1000, if we want to get a more modern gauge on pricing.

sure it went from sixpence to ten cents. its 50 years ago, do your own research

not sure what the relevance is. price doubled in 3 years (Not ten)

Im comparing apples to apples, Bathurst 12 hour 2012, Bathurst 12 hour 2015. price doubled under James O'brien Repeat it Doubled

Surely have you know issue if it doubles again in the next 3 years

Will be interesting to see how this develops over the ensuing years.

Ultimately it will the fans, teams and officials who determine the value and appropriateness of entry prices for each stakeholder.

The noise from motorsport fans so far has been fairly loud and consistent.

No there has been noise. Definitely not consistent. If it was consistent it would be upset about the doubling of prices in the last 3 years

Or maybe fans knew that it was an extreme bargain three years ago but are still at prices that seem reasonable.
