There's no way to implement this. Things work well if they are kept single. I think this championship works very well, so less is needed to improve it.
If you are wanting more winners, the idea of rotating between many different cars during the championship would be good. For example, I would fancy my chances in a DTM-style car, but I wouldn't in a LMP car because it is a lot harder to maximise the performance of the car.
