If if has wheels, an engine and it doesn't work, then yes that's fine. Don't worry about anything other than learning how to make things work.
If something in your house breaks, be it a playstation controller, a picture frame or a cup then rather than just buying another, try and fix the broken thing so that it works as well (if not better
) than it did before. Then you can buy a new one if you still want to.
