Formula Ford in GB is a massive thing to get into, the costs are big, but if you can crack it the benifits are pretty cool.
All of the teams for F3, Formula Renault etc look at Formula Ford when trying to pick out new talent. But the problem has always been, and always will be cash, find a rich girlfriend
