As for being approached anywhere by someone with the phrase, you will find your Mk1 Escort attracts more attention than anything else! I left (previous) home at 6am out in the wilds of Norfolk once in TEX, my RS1600 road car, and 100 yds up the road had to pull over for a hatchback coming the other way. Sure enough the driver stopped, wound down his window and started to relate his Escort story.
And it is a pain towing The Canary on an open trailer due to the amount of cars that get alongside and then slow to take photos. Interesting if you are closing rapidly on something slower....
