Which brings me back to my belief that the sound is a very important part of the whole motorsport package. I can recognise, understand and appreciate a good race when I see it, regardless of the cars involved, but I'm convinced that's not enough for the average punter spending his entertainment dollars.
That's where F1 has dropped the ball big-time (again, my opinion) with these awful sounding engines. Hell, they don't even call them engines anymore. Also, at the risk of slipping into rant-mode, who really gives a monkeys about fuel usage in F1?
