Diz, I think your idea deserves to be given some serious thought. Sounds great entertainment for the spectators and potentially good value for the competitor.
Dad remembers taking part in a few relay races in the dim distant past: they first began by having to swop wheel nuts around from wheel to wheel. Well, you can probably imagine what happened there......! So, it was decided to adopt the coloured sash idea instead, far more sensible!
