But if F1 brings in a 2.4l V8 it'll still be getting at least 700bhp, and in a car which aerodynamically will be quicker than a GP2.

Renault are making a sensible move - we've all been saying for ages there are too many single seater ladder categories.

At the end of this year F3000 will be replaced by GP2, World Series and FRV6 will be merged.

All we need now is for the people behind the Euro 3000 series to scrap it and we'll have a quite sensible and clear situation.
