Yep, I wonder how it will happen at Motegi with both of Honda & Lexus have a tag team to help each other for the championship.
But I guess the inter-team "help" is not something new. Back at 2002 JGTC season at last race Suzuka, it's all about #64 Mobil 1 NSX vs #6 Esso Ultraflo Supra for the 2002 title (although there are other cars which still eligible for the championship). 2002 was when top 3 fastest laps were awarded with points.
#16 Mugen NSX which was laden with 100kg handicap, tried to "help" #64 Mobil 1 NSX for the title by setting fastest lap to eclipse #6 Supra from top 3 fastest lap. To make it happen, the #16 made 2nd pitstop, changing tyres & did certain quick setups. But in the end the attempt failed because of GT300 traffic.
