A lot of the damage to Amandas legs was caused by the battery breaking loose,although the forces involved in her shunt must have far exceeded normal engineering expectations.So yes a safety issue does exist,however a simple solution is to use a steel floortray which will add strength and stiffness to the car plus get the weight down low.If I wasnt already overweight I would use this myself.
