Possible, definitely possible. Or GM could have an arrangement with Walkinshaw as an independent importer, running marketing, sales, dealer network but with the global warranty program underpinning the operation and full GM branding / support.
That is the arrangement for example that Subaru have with Inchcape, and have done for many years. Currently Ateco look after Ram, LDV and Maserati in this way and have previously done the same for Fiat and Alfa. Audi was imported and run by Inchcape for years, the list is actually pretty extensive of brands that have been imported/distributed by independents.
We'll find out more in the months to come no doubt.
