Gerard should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I just bought 'The Spirit of Speed 1937'.
It's a game by Hasbro Interactive and developed by Microprose.
I think you all know 'Grand Prix Legends'.
This game is also about Grand Prix racing in the good old days.
Although I think it's not as good as 'Legends', this one is not that difficult to play.
It's actually very easy to get into.
You do need a 'heavy' computer to benefit from all it has to offer though.
There are 9 tracks to choose from, Tripoli, Avus, Montana, Roosevelt, Monthlery, Pau, Donington, Brooklands and Monza.
I especially like Monza, with the old banking and the Brooklands oval.
Thirteen cars, like the Alfa Romeo P3, Alfa Romeo Bimotore, Alfa Romeo 12C, Auto Union Type C, Auto Union Type D, Bugatti 35B, Bugatti 59, Duesenberg, ERA Remus, Mercedes Benz 125, Mercedes Benz 154, Miller and Napier Ralton.
I've only been playing the game for a couple of hours, so I can't tell you about everything there is.
Overall, I do like the game, but I'm easily satisfied.
The graphics are OK, but the sound is a let down.
I also think something more could have been done with the replay function.
But all in all it gives you a good impression how dangerous racing was in those days.

Gerard.
