Well, I suppose if you're looking from a diversity point of view then it's certainly unique. But this car was slower than the GT2 class for a good chunk of its lifespan.
After they replaced the troublesome engine with an AER (oh the irony), it didn't get much better. There was even a race where it was the only LMP1 on the grid and it still finished 10th.
So it was diverse, but the quality wasn't there. But remember WEC 2018 is looking like it'll have SMP, DragonSpeed, Manor and maybe ORECA in it. Those are true privateers.
