One thought that struck me just now is... How does Danica's machinery stack up against what Janet Guthrie, Lyn St. James and Sarah Fisher had in their respective Indy efforts in terms of how competitive it is?
Not the easiest to answer perhaps, but surely Danica's overall situation has to be one of the better ones a female driver has had at the Brickyard?
As for Newman/Haas, I think they will be able to step up their game as the month progresses - they are too big a team and too professional to give up without a fight.
