I think it was inevitable that the grid would have to be opened to more than just Gp1/2/5 stuff. Not a big deal to me as they were all Escorts, just some were more period than others.....
I viewed the day as a chance to support the HSCC and be involved in a one off occasion. Of course there were going to be those out for glory, but all that was of little interest to me. (Not that I would have been competitive with the front runners anyway
)
Most important was returning home with in undamaged car. It may be only a blue oval product, but the repair costs are same as any other race car....
