Watching US GT4 races recently, the Cayman seems to be catching on quickly, and winning. Of course, the legendary Porsche Customer Racing support probably helps! I think the race version has to be homologated for the particular category. That was already in the process of being done when the car had 6 cylinders, and it’s not a quick process to change, even if they wanted to.
Or I could be talking a load of balloney.......
