On the landrovers we used to put a PTFE disc in between the leaves (one disc at each end of each leaf) the discs were turned with a nipple (OMG thats the sort of thing that got us
last time)in the centre which located in a small hole drilled in each leaf. Worked a treat on the landie although it was being helped out by a pair of konis at each corner - cornered nice and flat at speed and lots of response on the knarly off road stuff
