Much in the same way that blocks were supplied (produced) for Lotus back in the 60s. They were "selected" when cast in Dagenham.
It is amazing how many of them then appeared in the hands of those fettling oversize engines that were used back then in Special Saloons, mine included. Back then one didn't ask too many questions!
