Largely down to a rush to the start line as opposed to full development and testing ? things were somewhat different then. One thing I've learned building engines is that certain tunes suit certain drivers, Not that Stirling nor Jim Clark weren't both top notch.

The more you look at his racing career the more astounding achievements you find.

I asked Arthur if he remembers this, thankfully he does, it was his 8th birthday, and he got a result. 2 days before Stirlings 84th.
