With two weeks to go until the start of the F1 GP week in Montreal (the biggest event of the year in Montreal), the transit strike is on. The metro is still running during peak hours, but that won't be good enough to serve the needs of F1 fans, who need peak service almost all day long to go back and forth to the circuit. Let's hope this strike is settled very soon.

Montreal's 2,200 public transit maintenance workers went on strike one minute after midnight early Tuesday morning, after negotiations failed to produce a new contract...

...The Confédération des syndicats nationaux (CSN) earlier agreed to abide by a schedule outlined by the province's Essential Services Council on May 17.

Under that schedule, buses and the Metro will offer full services during three time periods on weekdays: from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 1 a.m...
