Hi,
You could try the book by Costin & Phipps (name of book escapes me). It is excellent, though dated but deals with the fundamentals.
Alternatively, you could consult an aerospace book such as Bruhn, though this is very mathematical & technical. Not for a non-engineer.
Lastly, you could trawl through old issues of Cars & Cars Conversions (CCC), which a couple of years ago didn't let an issue pass without some article on KAD Spaceframe minis (Damn Japanese will buy anything :-) )
