I think that there were no japanese teams that would had liked to run in dtm. During last year dtmxsgt race at hockenheim buttom complained a lot about hankook tyres... he said that japanese engineers were upset because each japanese car setup is mainly based on BS/MH/DL/YH tyres features like opt. temp, wear rate etc.. while hankooks are just chunk of extra hard tyres with overall poor grip but basically no wear rate compared to their condifential compounds.
