Uploading Attachments- please read.

We are pleased to announce that we are to allow the direct attachment of photographs again in this forum as we did before. The reason we had to stop this was limited bandwidth on our server.

With the changes at Ten-Tenths in recent months we now have a new home, a new server with more bandwidth and we will allow direct posting on a trial basis. Please read the Forum Guidelines thread before posting!

Please do not upload too many pictures in your postings and keep them small, max 400 x 400 pixels. Where possible try to put your own photos of events in the 'Best photo taken yourself' threads, limited to a couple of shots per event. Any photographs that were not taken by yourself, please consider the copyright before posting.

If you do wish to post several photos, please link from your own webspace (using links or thumbnails if possible) or you may like to consider using the free image hosting site www.imageshack.us

If you register at imageshack (it is free), you can upload your pictures to your imageshack page and link them to here, saving our bandwidth. Your pictures on imageshack are automatically deleted if not looked at for 12 months. If you do link them to here, please use the thumbnail code for each image. Imageshack automatically generates this code when a picture is uploaded. See the thread 'paintings' as an example:
http://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64349

This will ensure that each post loads quickly, saves imageshack bandwidth too and from the thumbnail you can view the image to decide whether to enlarge it or not by clicking on it. Using the thumbnail code rather than the full image will also be helpful to those on dial-up as each post should load faster.
