One of my favorite things to do at PLM is to stand at pit out. Nowhere in the world can you get so close to the cars at full throttle (a Jersey barrier and a chain link fence is the only separation). To keep from being blown over, you literally had to hold onto something as the Panoz LMP1 blew past.
Another memory from PLM was after the race as the cars were being loaded into haulers, a Panoz crew member thought it would be a good idea to do a brake stand - burnout in the paddock area with the Panoz and I was lucky enough to be in the vicinity.
What a legacy that man leaves with his cars. He did some other great things, too.
