Can I just remind everyone that Scanners are for listening to, not for acting on.
Some Chiefs have a problem with marshals using scanners, personally I don't as they can be very useful - provided that golden rule is remembered.
By all means get a scanner, listen to all the waffle that permutates the airwaves, be informed, but do not - EVER - act on something you hear, until it comes thru the official radio/phone link.
