Believe me, if a rolling start is done properly it can ensure suitable quantities of carnage.
Before last year in the UK Clios (standing start) I had 3 seasons in Super Coupe Cup (rolling) and the main difference is that in a rolling start everyone take sthe green light 3 inches apart and arrives at the first corner en masse 30 mph quicker.
I am a fan of standing starts (although I had a few duff ones last year) purely on safety reasons!!! Which seems to run against the majority of views here...
