You would be hard pushed to get an established constructor of racing cars to buy into the "HELL OF A LOT CHEAPER" concept. Just imagine the tooling costs alone, never mind the crash testing/safety aspects of a commercially marketed product!
I have to agree with an earlier contributor, there are plenty of cheap ways to start - FF1600, Formula Renault and FVee to name but three. The idea of a single chassis, cheap to buy & run racing car is fantastic but just not realistic!
