He wasn't as good as Rainey or Schwantz when both of those dropped out, but defiantely improved by 1999. I think he was lucky to be the dominant rider in a fairly weak era, guys like Barros and Criville aren't really megastars, and Biaggi hasn't followed through on his promise. Rossi would've destroyed him, he's got a much better claimt o being the greatest than Mick.
