My second ever car was a yellow Renault Dauphine (nicknamed the Custard Bowl by my friends). Changing gears was always a travel into the uknown, but it got one from A to B.
And for a very short period I also became one of the first "Minicab" drivers, joining the team in their Dauphines shortly before it was disbanded.
And in '66, I bought my first new car, a Hillman Imp; I had learnt how to pedal a rear engined car quickly, and it suited me.
