Heck I wouldn't be surprised if the budget to run four Nissan Altimas was less than that for running (at the time) two Red Bull Commodores. The Kelly Racing team has always had the air of being overextended and (relatively) under-resourced IMO.
By all means they are leagues better equipped than a team like Preston Hire Racing, but are they resourced to the same level as a team like 888?

The other thing is that the only team to match 888 in regard of resources etc is Penske I think. And yes, I assume Nissan was never close to 888 budget-wise.
