Bill Brown, from what I have been told Motorsport New Zealand had voiced their desires to race at Timaru, but everyone else - not just Toyota - refused to race there because of the safety hazards. Timaru isn't the only circuit that has it's issues, it's just they felt there were too many and not enough was being done to rectify those problems, particularly with 'safety barriers'.
