A buddy called me up a couple months ago and asked if I wanted to go to Spa. I've dreamed of it many times, but didn't really have the coin to spend on a trip to Europe and GP tickets. He said, "I'm buying if you're flying."
You don't need to ask me twice.
I'd never seen or heard anything like it. Awesome track, awesome setting. We had tickets in the Gold 2 grandstands about 2/3 of the way up the hill coming out of Eau Rouge. You could look across and see the chicane and pit entrance on the other side of the track, and then watch the cars blaze down the hill into Eau Rouge, and scream up the hill past you. By the end of race day, I had to turn my head away because I thought my ears would bleed.
We hiked all over the track on Friday and Saturday. It's big.
I'd rate it in the top three coolest things I've ever done. And a solid top three, because we spent a few days in Amsterdam before flying back to Seattle.
Can't tell you about any other track, but I can tell you that Spa is awesome.
