According to the article, 2018 actually showed a positive economical growth but in the end it they couldn't keep on going. They apparently had large deficits.
When RallyX Nordic was a part of STCC, rallycross drivers hadn't received their prize money even before the next season started. According to a friend of mine, they had economical problems at the time as well. This was back in 2015 or 2016 I think.
The fiasco is not mentioned in the article.
