He didn't mention the rear suspension, but apparently the fron was quite trick as the McPhearson strut was used basically as the king-pin (pivot for the steering), and there was a seperate rocker style coil spring damper unit mounted lower down.
He says it was the sweetest handling car he's ever driven, very softly sprung, but really gripped the road in wet or dry conditions.

Yes, the front was as described when we bought and sold the car, so presumably another Alan Mann mod.
Presumably the car went from Stuart Turner to Malcolm Johnstone as part of a deal before going to Alistair.
