Oh I agree, the cars are much better now, the battles are closer, there is more than one team that can win.
There have been several peaks of WRC, for me they would be the mid to late 70's and early 80's, the Group B period and the early 90s, plus the WRC era from about 2000 to when Loeb became dominant.
We have a good period now and if Ogier wins the title in a Citroen, he can easily be claimed the best ever, as he would win it in 3 different cars.
