It would be idiotic PR not to have him topping the time sheets. That is why #8 will get the pole as #7 getting it would be absolute no-news, unlike in the past years with mfg competition. Which means only one of the cars should ideally be going for a 'quick time', the other one should back off and just do long race prep runs in quali.

However since #8 will get even bigger headlines if it's Alonso that sets the fastest time, not the other two guys, I don't expect it to be mind-blowing time like with Kobayashi last year. Probably '15 or '16. High '14s if the traffic is as sparse as last year.

He will probably set it in Q2 if he's not 100% comfortable with night running yet

Only common sense to do it this way from their perspective, and I'm not even being sarcastic

In the race such trickery won't really work out however, unless they are 1-2 with 20 lap lead by sunday morning which doesn't sound very likely
