Well, Champcar marshalling is not done the same way as here. Trackside marshals are flags and comms only, with only the Green Team marshals permitted trackside, so in that case it's possible the marshals on post would not have the equipment to deal with. I'm not convinced it's the best way in some instances, but the teams are VERY professional and hugely experienced.
