Max, I think Peter is right, the place your invoice will be issued does matter. I found this for you: "Un commerçant ou un artisan étranger (non ressortissant européen), qui souhaite venir exercer son activité en France, doit d'abord obtenir un visa de long séjour pour entrer en France, puis demander une carte de séjour temporaire autorisant l'exercice d'une activité professionnelle."

Genuine question: are you considered as an EU citizen, now?
My understanding is that if you intend to work in France but invoice form the UK, no change. Now if you're looking for a job or want to open a shop here, different story.
