What Pruett is saying is that if Palou leads both Dixon and Newgarden by 109 points after Gateway he will win the title but that's not what the headline implies. With three races left, a maximum of 162 points could be scored. Dixon has 438 points currently, so could possibly end up with a total of 600. Palou currently has 539 points, so he would need 62 points in the three races to clinch the title if Dixon scores the maximum. If I was betting I would place my money on Palou clinching at Portland but not before.
