In fact the only scholarship class race winner actualy progress to an overall race win was Takuma Sato, who won some races in the scholarship class for diamond in 1999.

I'm pretty sure David Brabham raced in the scholarship (or class B as it was then) too, before going on to take the class title, but your point is well made.
