Tesla are appearing to be doing a reverse ferret over their recent announcements about price reductions and showroom closures. It is now saying that it will only be closing about half of those previously announced, and that they will be actually increasing the price of their cars by about 3% except for the mid-range 3 series. The lower price 3s and the higher price 3s plus the S and X models will be increasing to partially pay for the showrooms to remain open.
I don't know if this was already being practised, but the company has said that it will not permitting test drives as they claim that their returns policy is so good that buyers can return the car within 7 days or 1,000 miles. And showroom staff will show customers how to buy the car using the clients' own phones - the staff will not complete the sale.
