I think it just needs a very simple solution. I'm not part of the series, so I don't know exactly how to fix it, but here is a suggestion:
2k cup is meant to be an entry level motorsport series, so what if you could only compete in it for a set number of seasons, whether it be one, two or three. You must then step up, either to SS2000 (not that far ahead in terms of pace to the back of the grid, and costs are comparative), or even a 2k+ or 5k cup or something like that.
This way 2k remains entry level and those who are getting bored and want to get more out of it, can do so in another series.
