I work with a six pilote racing team, two of whom are female. One is as good as the guys are (or as most of them are) and is middle aged and is well accepted as a pilote and her gender is not important to anyone. One is sixteen and quite good for a rookie and drives a pink car and the boys hate her... because "she's got a rich father and she only weighs 115 lb. and She's Ruining Everything ... " but the fact remains that she is good. Will she progress? Maybe not, because she won't get the help from her mates that the boys get.

In the lower formulae, yes, let them race if they want to. In F1 and CART - NO NO NO NO NO.
