I suppose Circuit ICAR is somewhat comparable to the Berlin Tempelhof Airport circuit used by Formula E, but being almost 40 km away from Montreal is probably not what Formula E wants.
The Formula E website now shows TBA where Montreal had been on the schedule. I have no idea if that means they may be hoping to quickly add another race to the schedule as a replacement.

You're totally right, I missed those Long Beach and Monaco events. When you watch them now, the cars do look very silly on those circuits.
I believe FE was offered the use of the Montreal F1 circuit and turned it down.
