I also remember a mention of a Mazda 626 being raced as a Group A in Australia, but nothing seems to have surfaced, despite four or five RX-7s appeared. The 626 was never homologated as a Group A and in fact the manufacture has a very modest record of Group A racing.

The 626 appeared in the '84 ATCC. Apparently a rally car drive by Murray Coote.
